This qualification has been developed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge required to work as a teacher in the Further Education sector. This qualification is suitable for anyone teaching in the 14+ Sector.  It has been designed to meet the latest occupational standards and replaces the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.

The qualification aims to cover a wide spectrum of job roles within the diverse FE landscape, supporting educators who work in adult education, prison education, FE providers, SEND provision and training providers.

The TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English: Numeracy (RQF) is a standalone specialist qualification for teachers working in the education and training sector who wish to obtain a specialist teaching qualification in numeracy. 

The aims of the qualification are to develop a learner's knowledge, skills and attitudes for teaching numeracy.

Learners will already be teaching and wish to have their experience and practice in Maths/ Numeracy accredited.

The Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English: Literacy (RQF) qualification is a standalone specialist qualification for teachers working in the education and training sector who wish to obtain a specialist teaching qualification in literacy. The aims of the qualification are to develop learners’ knowledge, skills and attitudes for teaching literacy.

Learners will already be teaching and wish to have their experience and practice in English/Literacy accredited.

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) qualification is an introductory teaching qualification which can be undertaken by learners who are not yet in a teaching role or who are currently teaching. This qualification replaced the Level 3 and Level 4 Awards in Preparing to Teaching in the Life Long Learning Sector (QCF), known as PTLLS.

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF) qualification is suitable for learners who want a teaching qualification which focuses on both the practical and theoretical elements of teaching. Learners may already be teaching and wish to have their experience and practice accredited, or not presently teaching but capable of meeting the minimum teaching practice requirement of 30 hours for this qualification.

The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (RQF) qualification is suitable for learners who perform a full teaching role and want a qualification which focuses on both the practical and theoretical elements of teaching. Learners may already be teaching and wish to have their experience and practice accredited, or not presently teaching but capable of meeting the minimum teaching practice requirement of 100 hours for this qualification.

The Level 5 Certificate in Observation of Teaching and Learning (RQF) is suitable for qualified and experienced teachers who undertake formal observations of colleagues delivering teaching or training sessions. The qualification develops the skills and knowledge in undertaking teaching, training and learning session observations and post observation feedback processes. Individuals who already have observation experience will still benefit considerably from completion of this qualification as it provides accredited recognition of their skills.

This qualification provides individuals with the opportunity to develop the knowledge of the role of an end-point assessor. The qualification is intended for anyone who wishes to gain a nationally recognised qualification in understanding end-point assessing.

This qualification provides individuals with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and competency to perform the role of an end-point assessor. The qualification is intended for anyone who wishes to gain a nationally recognised qualification in end-point assessing. Learners may be new to end-point assessing, or are already working in the role of an apprenticeship end-point assessor.

The Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (RQF) qualification is intended for learners who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment. Learners will be qualified to undertake assessments in a work environment on completion of this qualification. There are two units to cover during the qualification – ‘Understanding the principles and practices of assessment’ and ‘Assess occupational competence in the work environment’.

The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF) qualification is intended for learners who assess This qualification is intended for learners who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment rather than assessing competence in a work environment. This qualification comprises of two units ‘Understanding the principles and practices of assessment’ and ‘Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding’.

The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (RQF) qualification provides learners with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them to perform the full role of an assessor. Assessing both competence in the work environment and vocational achievement.

This qualification is equivalent to the former assessing qualifications D32/33 and A1 Award. There are three units to cover during the qualification – ‘Understanding the principles and practices of assessment’, ‘Assess occupational competence in the work environment’ and ‘Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding’.

The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (RQF) qualification is for learners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of the role of an assessor and the assessment process. The qualification does not qualify someone to undertake the full assessor role.

The Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) qualification provides learners with the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them to perform the role of internal quality assurer (IQA) within a provider. The qualification comprises of two units ‘Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment’ and ‘Internally assure the quality of assessment’.

The qualification is equivalent to the D34/35 and V1 Award, former internal quality assurance qualifications.

The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) qualification develops the skills, knowledge and understanding to enable learners to lead a team of internal quality assurers. (IQAs).

The qualification comprises of three units ‘Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment’, ‘Internally assure the quality of assessment’ and ‘Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility’.
In order to achieve this qualification learners must work with two assessors who both have two learners each. In other words, the trainee IQA (learner) must internally quality assure four pieces of learner evidence, across the two assessors. Learners must also lead IQA activities in their provider, working with at least one or more IQAs.

The Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) qualification is for learners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of the role of an internal quality assurer (IQA). Learners complete one unit ‘Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment’.

The Level 4 Award in External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) qualification provides learners with the opportunity to the develop skills, knowledge and understanding, to enable them to perform the role of an external quality assurer (EQA) within an awarding organisation.

The qualification is made up of two units ‘Understanding the principles and practices of externally assuring the quality of assessment’ and ‘Externally assure the quality of assessment’.

The Level 4 Award in Understanding External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) qualification is for learners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of the role of an external quality assurer (EQA). Learners complete one unit ‘Understanding the principles and practices of externally assuring the quality of assessment’.
