The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF) qualification is suitable for learners who want a teaching qualification which focuses on both the practical and theoretical elements of teaching. Learners may already be teaching and wish to have their experience and practice accredited, or not presently teaching but capable of meeting the minimum teaching practice requirement of 30 hours for this qualification.

This qualification is equivalent to the former assessing qualifications D32/33 and A1 Award. There are three units to cover during the qualification – ‘Understanding the principles and practices of assessment’, ‘Assess occupational competence in the work environment’ and ‘Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding’.

The qualification is equivalent to the D34/35 and V1 Award, former internal quality assurance qualifications.

Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) qualification develops the skills, knowledge and understanding to enable learners to lead a team of internal quality assurers. (IQAs).

The qualification comprises of three units ‘Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment’, ‘Internally assure the quality of assessment’ and ‘Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility’.
In order to achieve this qualification learners must work with two assessors who both have two learners each. In other words, the trainee IQA (learner) must internally quality assure four pieces of learner evidence, across the two assessors. Learners must also lead IQA activities in their provider, working with at least one or more IQAs.
